Dr. Ryland Grace, as a dormant Sentinel, knew he was seen as worthless and disposable. Dormant Sentinels were only dormant because there was something wrong with them. He knew, once the amnesia wore off, that that had been a major contributor behind Stratt's actions.
He never expected to a) Awaken as a Sentinel or b) find his Guide on what was expected to be a suicide mission to save Earth.

This story will be a mix of book and movie canon. There are some areas where I preferred the book canon more and others where I preferred the movie canon more.
There will be hand-wavey science in this, done with a basic Google search. I am not a scientist in any way, shape, or form.
The Major Character Death tag is to cover that for a large majority of the book/movie, Grace believes he’s on a one-way mission that will end in his death either by suicide or starvation. This will be mentioned in my story. The minor character death tags are for the other two crew members who are dead at the beginning of the book/movie.
