Tony chuckled at the wall of emojis his son sent to his phone before sending back a simple thumbs up in response. He knew it would drive the boy crazy but it would also help distract him on the drive to his first meeting with his therapist.
Tony stood at the floor to ceiling windows looking out over the large covered pool and the manicured lawn beyond. This was the fifth house they’d visited for the day and the one that both Tony and Stiles liked best. It was bigger and a bit more over the budget Tony had allowed for but it was also in the best shape and needed the least amount of renovations to make it perfect.
“Didn’t think a town this small would have a Trader Joe’s.” Tony hummed as he browsed the aisle, grabbing a jar off the shelf and absently reading the label.
Tony stood at the large picture window of his hotel room, sipping hot tea as he gazed out unto the stunning view of the forests that sprawled out to the horizon. He was barefoot on the pile carpet, nothing on but black silk boxers because as much as he loved sleeping in the nude, he’d learned the hard way that one did not indulge like that away from home without the dead bolt on his door or at Ian’s place with the sniper between him and the door. Especially not in a strange hotel rooms where, as fancy as they may be, any Tom, Dick or Ziva could pick a lock or have a spare room key.
The sun was low on the horizon by the time they landed at Marine Base Alameda, setting the sky and clouds above ablaze in a stunning tapestry of deep oranges and purples. Tony took a deep breath as he squinted against the light, guiding a sleepy Stiles off the plane with one hand steady on the boy’s shoulder; the other holding the old backpack and his own overnight duffel. “It’s always in the freaking parking lots…” he huffed a low chuckle to himself.
Tony has escorted Stiles home to Beacon Hills and is ready to settle down in the small California Town to start a new chapter in his life and get to know his newly found Son. He just has to face his racy past with the Sheriff, helping Stiles with his mysterious trauma, buying a house, finding a job, navigating small town life and figuring what was really going on with this strange little place. Wolves and Foxes and Tree Stumps, Oh My!
