“So what… You get to create all of these issues and then run away and leave them for someone else to fix? I will admit that I believe you wield far too much power. And if you have really done all these things…. What are you not telling me?”
“Nobody has poisoned me against you, Ronald,” Hermione spat angrily and flipped her bushy hair over one shoulder before straightening her spine. “You’ve done that all on your own. The fact of the matter is that I opened my mind and asked relevant questions when the opportunity presented itself to me.
Where I was going with that was to say that none of the recent generations of Malfoy men before me did anything good for the name. They’ve trashed it, and now it is up to me to rehabilitate it.
“So you are saying Mr. Weasley was correct? Even I did not believe that Draco Malfoy could kidnap a whole group of people.” Albus answered disbelievingly and Severus sighed. “That,” he said, trying not to glare or lose his patience. “That right there is the problem. No, Ronald Weasley was not correct, but your assumption that something bad is being done by a Slytherin child is the problem.”
“I keep thinking about my parents and how they sacrificed everything, including their lives for me, and yet Draco can’t even be allowed to think for himself without both parents wanting him dead. That’s crazy, Padfoot!
When Draco awoke next, it was late morning. The burning sensation wasn’t the first thing that he thought of, but it did pop into his mind quickly. Yawning as he pulled his night shirt over his head, Draco stumbled from bed, heading toward his room’s ensuite, and glanced at his arm to see what had happened.
“I saw him go through, Drake. I’m so sorry, brother.” Theo offered, sitting down in the damp grass at Draco’s shoulder. “I know we joked about it beforehand, but…” “I’m not so sure I was joking,” Draco whispered and looked at Sirius, who silently made his way over from where he’d been huddled with Harry and Hermione as they tried to calm Ron down.
Draco Malfoy knows it’s time to act when he hears that Potter and Co. are going to save Sirius Black at the Dept. of Mysteries. Draco can’t stomach following his parents’ path because he knows it will lead to his ruination. Knowing that he needs an escape route he sees his only option in the last person who left the Black family, Sirius Black. Only Sirius is in a bit of a pickle so Draco will need to save his cousin first.
