Deputy Derek Hale’s newest investigation wasn’t the most difficult he’d ever conducted, but it would be the most life changing. The investigation started in the preserve. Everything else started in a downtown bar where he ran into his boss’ son. Stiles Stilinski may have trained his full magical potential at a prestigious supernatural university, but he’d be damned if the resident wolf pack found out exactly how suited he was to the role of emissary. He’d met Talia Hale and he wanted nothing to do with her or her minions. Then he met Derek Hale.

This is a werewolves are known au and since shifters are known, magic is too. This means ‘hunters’ don’t exist as they do in canon so the Argents aren’t a thing here. But I will be running with all the negative impressions and implications given in canon about Alan Deaton, Talia Hale, and Laura Hale. I don’t consider it bashing, but the warning is there just in case. The animal sacrifice should be well within canon levels of awful and probably won’t be described too much. I will put the warning on any chapter that it applies to.
