Change came on the wings of dragons in the form of a devastating wave that destroyed the lives of thousands and had more consequences than any expected. It’s not just the deaths the city faces, nor the failure of the warning system, or the investigation already underway against the LAFD and the destruction of the ‘family’ they’d thought they’d made at the 118. It’s in the form of protecting their son, the next generation of Dragon Carriers. Unfortunately for the people who oppose them, they learn that challenging a dragon comes with the threat of fire, and neither Evan Buckley nor Eddie Diaz fears using that to establish their rights as the Alpha Primes.

Author Notes
I decided to err on the side of caution and included the Violence Against Children in regard to Bobby’s back story. I will state now that he was never physically violent, but the warnings for addiction, drug use, accusations of infidelity, accusations of kidnapping, violence-canon-level, bigotry & prejudice all relate to Bobby’s and his actions, which I believe is traumatic for anyone to deal with, never mind children. How prevalent it will be remains to be seen.
Discussion of Child Abuse and Domestic Abuse could also be included in Bobby’s portion of his back story. Though I include it for both Maddie and Buck.
As established in the first book, there is character bashing, and it carries over into this book, mostly targeting Chimney, Maddie, and Bobby.
Oh, I love dragons. The thought of this story just makes me giddy. Eagerly awaiting tje start day for this challenge.
